Flamenco dance and music has a long and colorful past. Originating from the region of Spain called Andalusia, it has become hugely popular all over the world. In 2010, Flamenco was declared a World Heritage Treasure by UNESCO. Classes are filled with friendships, rhythm, and an atmosphere that lets the kids have fun, enjoy, and grow their own different artistic talents. Flamenco dance includes lots of footwork--especially stomping! Students will also learn hand clapping and finger snapping patterns to flamenco rhythms, arm and hand movements for both boys and girls, and to hold their bodies like proud dancers. Our Monday afternoon class, from 3:35pm to 4:30pm, is for younger students (Kindergarten to 2nd Grade). Our Wednesday afternoon class, from 1:20pm to 2:30pm, is for older grade students (Third to Fifth Grade) Please do not hesitate to reach out to edenhancement@ |
Flamenco is open to students at Puesta del Sol, with a maximum of 16 students per class per session. If the minimum enrollment of 7 students is not met, the class may be cancelled. If we do not have a chaperone available for the class day, class may be cancelled.
The PTA Chaperone must be present at every class session. Their responsibilities include taking attendance when students arrive and being available to help with emergencies, and checking students out at the end of class. The PTA Chaperone receives a 50% discounted registration fee for their child. Only one discounted registration is available per session. Chaperones must have a current Bellevue School District background check, be an active PTA Member, and follow the provided Chaperone Checklist. Please email edenhancement@

Please have your child meet the Instructor and PTA Chaperone in the school gym right after school ends. Please supply your child with an after-school nut-free snack (the gym has a drinking fountain). Please pick-up your child from the gym, using the NE doors that open to the back parking lot.
Mondays: $229 (8 class days)
Wednesdays: $258 (9 class days)
Students are asked to purchase their own dance shoes and costumes (skirts for girls, black pants for boys). Skirts can be borrowed from PTA if needed. Fans and other accessories are provided by the instructor.
If you are applying for financial aid, please fill out the Financial Aid Form and submit it to the PTA Deposits Treasurer for approval BEFORE you register for the class. A discount code will be sent to you via email. Please contact the Deposits Treasurer at deposits@puestadelsolpta.
For Winter Session, early-bird registration will open on December 17th. A private link will be sent to all active PTA Members on December 16th. Registration will open for all currently enrolled Puesta del Sol students on December 20th. The link below will show all open classes for registration at that time.

Maestra Cristina is a Flamenco teacher with Semilla Flamenca Studio in Redmond. Cristina Nogueira was born in the Canary Islands, Spain, she spent most of her childhood in Andalusia where she began studying flamenco and ballet. Later on she continued her dance studies in Madrid. Flamenco to her, is the way to express herself, conveying feelings and all the emotions. She shares this passion with her 9 year old daughter. Cristina loves children and has a gift for teaching little ones. She teaches her classes primarily in Spanish. |
