Amity Interns - 
The Amity program, organized by the Amity Institute, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building international friendships and cultural understanding through teaching exchange. Each year our PTA sponsors Amity interns to provide Spanish language and cultural learning assistance to our teachers and students at Puesta del Sol. Families from the Puesta community host the interns for approximately 12 week periods over the course of the school year.

International Spanish Academy (ISA) - The ISA Program serves all three Spanish-language programs: Puesta del Sol Elementary, Tillicum Middle School and Newport High School. The goal of this program is to educate the parent population on ISA-related topics, promote consistent communication and cross-school activities across the three age groups, and provide a web presence with all pertinent ISA information in one place.

Passport Club - The Passport Club is a school-wide geography enrichment program for students in grades 1-5. This fun and engaging program aims to foster interest and awareness in our global community by helping students learn the continents, main bodies of water and the location of some or all of the world’s countries and capitals.

Academic Challenge - The Academic Challenge is a free enrichment program for all students in K-5 at Puesta del Sol. This is an optional, non-competitive program for students to challenge themselves, and foster a love of learning and exploration beyond the classroom.  Activities can be completed in Spanish or English.

Art Appreciation - The Art Appreciation Program helps supplement and complement the art curriculum at Puesta del Sol.  It supports students' free and creative expression of themselves through the arts.

Drama Kids - Drama Kids’ extensive and comprehensive curriculum was designed by educators, and is the result of more than 35 years of experience and continuous development. While kids are learning and developing new creative thinking styles and skills, they are also developing other important life skills. ALL Drama Kids programs are guaranteed to be both educational and FUN!

Fiesta Latina - Get inspired by the fun music and learn to dance! Fiesta Latina will help students improve coordination, boost confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of social dancing in the Latin American lifestyle! This year students will move to the rhythms and beats of hip-hop inspired dances, while practicing their Spanish in a casual, fun and friendly way.

Flamenco - Flamenco is from Andalucia in southern Spain. It is a profound, mysterious, powerful and passionate art form, expressing all of life, and emerged from a mixture of eastern and western cultures over many centuries.

International and Art Festival - Each year for the International Festival celebrates the cultures of the Puesta del Sol Community through dance and music.

Reflections- The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. This program encourages students to explore their artistic talents and is a fun and creative way for the students to let their artistic side shine.

Robotics - Robotics program provide hands-on STEM course students - introduction to programming computational thinking and building robots.

School Garden - The Garden Program provides real-life learning experiences for students to study components of nature such as insects, pollinators, soil, planting and cultivation, and composting. This program supports the Bellevue School District's FOSS science curriculum by providing Puesta del Sol teachers with an outdoor learning lab for their existing science lesson plans.

Spanish Immersion Through the Arts (SITA) - The SITA program provides students with unique cultural experiences not easily found in our community.  These experiences serve as enrichment opportunities for students to “play” with the Spanish language through literary, visual, and musical experiences.

Yoga Adventure Kids - Teaching mindfulness, movement and self-care practices, one breath at a time.  Each weekly practice will include deep breathing, sun salutations, a variety of accessible postures, a peaceful meditation and gratitude circle. Your kids will learn about the importance of self care and the many benefits of a regular yoga and
meditation practice.
