Testing will take place between May 6th and May 17th. Testing dates for each classroom will be available via your child's teacher in early May.

If you would like to contribute snacks, please bring them to the labelled box in the Front Office no later than May 3rd. Please bring non-perishable, individually wrapped, health-ish snacks. Flamenco (Spring Session)

Flamenco is from Andalucia in southern Spain. It is a profound, mysterious, powerful and passionate art form, expressing all of life, and emerged from a mixture of eastern and western cultures over many centuries, including influence from the Arabs and Moors, the Gypsies from India, the Jews... and coming from the heart and spirit of each individual, expressing their joys, their sadness, a great range of emotions... and touching the heart and soul of each other and the audience. We will be learning beautiful dance movements, involving a lot of arm and hand movements, proud posture, lots of fun rhythmical foot stomping, percussion of different kinds of hand clapping to flamenco rhythms, shouts of encouragement as flamenco artists do, a fun singing number with clapping and choreography, and another more involved choreography.

Flamenco dance, including lots of footwork (stomping!), percussion of hand clapping patterns to flamenco rhythms, arm and hand movements for both boys and girls, proud posture, finger snapping, moving to the rhythms of flamenco music, learning a singing number with clapping and choreography. The instructor for this class is internationally known Flamenco dancer and teacher, Ana Montes (www.anamontes.com). Staff Appreciation

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is coming: May 6-10!

Staff Appreciation

Join us in showing our appreciation to all of our beloved Puesta del Sol teachers & staff for all of their hard work in helping our students learn and grow! We are extremely grateful for such a wonderful community at PdS and a lot of that comes from our incredible teachers and staff members!

The PTA is hosting a luncheon for all staff on Wednesday, May 6. Following our annual traditions, we ask that our families contribute snacks and other items throughout the week. We have divided up the days based on grade levels for families to bring the themed items.

Please review the SignUp Genius page for available slots for your respective grades.

Please note that all items should be delivered to the Staff Lounge on the 2nd floor on your specified day. Please work with other parents if needed to coordinate drop off, or contact staffappreciation@puestadelsolpta.org if you need assistance.
Please, encourage your child(ren) to participate by bringing in the noted items below during the week! Many of these items can be found on our Teachers/Staff Favorites page.

There will be a bin in the main office to collect notes of thanks for all of our non-homeroom teacher staff. This is for our administration, Student Success Team, Specialists, Amities, Educational Support, etc. We encourage you to have your student/s drop notes off in the bin during the week so we can thank ALL of our wonderful staff!

We will meet in the Teatro. If the weather is nice, we will play on the playground. If not, we will stay inside. Activities and snacks will be provided—thank you Melissa Hammons and Annie Perry for volunteering.

If your child has specific needs we can accommodate, please email: specialed@puestadelsolpta.org. Everyone is welcome: siblings, non-parent caregivers, and friends.
