Bellevue School District (BSD) Support

Family Connections Center
Family Connections Centers help families find and receive the services they need to send their children to school ready to learn. These services range from emergency food boxes to a student’s first new pair of sneakers to English classes for parents. In addition, the centers provide information and referral services such as connecting families with counselors, putting them in touch with food and utility assistance programs, or sharing information about free flu shots or low-cost dental care.

Free & Reduced Priced Meals
The online application only takes a few minutes. Families without access to the internet may utilize computers located at their school, at a Family Connections Center, at public libraries, or they may contact Nutrition Services at (425) 456-4507 for assistance. Nutrition Services has designated a computer in their office for the purpose of assisting families during normal business hours (7:00am – 3:30pm)

Nutrition Services utilizes an online application to determine a student’s eligibility for free or reduced priced meals. The online application is available to families beginning in mid-August annually.  If you need more assistance, please visit Nutrition Services Frequently Asked Questions page or the Bellevue School District Free & Reduced Priced Meals website.

Backpack Meals for Kids
For too many Bellevue school kids, the only meals they get are at school.  On the weekends, they don’t have enough to eat.  When children are hungry, everything else is harder, including learning.  The Backpack Meals for Kids program is working to fill that gap.

The nonprofit, Backpack Meals for Kids, serves children in the Bellevue School District. During the 2017-2018 school year, Backpack Meals for Kids distributed 12,000 packs and provided 72,654 meals serving 28 schools within the BSD. Backpack Meals is 100% volunteer-run with no overhead. All funding goes toward food.

WE CAN DO MORE!  Please consider donating!  Did you know that $7.35 fills a backpack for one student, $29 supports one student for a month and $100 helps 13 students for a week.  Your donation can make an enormous impact on a child's life.  For more information please check out the Backpack Meals for Kids website.

Please contact your teacher or see Srta. Maribel (  quezadam@bsd405.org ) in the Main Office to sign up. More information is available at the Backpack Meals for Kids website. Pick up is on Fridays!

Summer Meals

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) helps ensure children living in lower-income areas continue to receive nutritious meals during the summer. Good nutrition is essential for effective learning every day, all year long. Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does the need for good nutrition.

Here are some easy ways for families to find meals:
  • Text “Summer Meals” to 97779 to find free summer meals near them.
  • USDA Summer Meals Hotline at 1-866-348-6479. Families will receive assistance to find the location, meal times, and contact information for summer meals based on their full address, city, and/or zip code.
  • USDA Summer Meal Site Finder. This website is easy for families to use, as they can access summer meals locations by entering their zip code.
