Thank you for a Wonderful Book Fair Week!

As you probably know, last week we had our Scholastic Book Fair! Thank you to all the students, care-givers, teachers, and staff who made our Book Fair a resounding success.

The first goal of our planning team was to encourage a love of reading in our students. The joy in our kids' faces when they first walked into the STEAM room last week was HUGE! We estimate well over 450 actual brand new books (not those lovely journals) were put into the hands of our kids this past week.

Our second goal was to raise funds to purchase new books for our library! A portion of every sale made comes directly back to our PTA. This year we raised well over $4,000 for new books that the whole school community gets to read and love next year.

You probably already realize, but our community is incredibly kind and generous. This year, we raised $373 via Share the Fair donations. We use this, in combination with a PTA grant, to buy a book for every child whose family is eligible for free or reduced lunches.

Last, but never least, please help us thank your amazing volunteers! Thank you to the Planning Committee (especially our Librarian, Tara Jones), to our Junior Volunteers (especially Kiera & Alyssa!), and to all who helped out over the last week. We have the BEST volunteers!
