Our vision is making every child's potential a reality. And our mission is to make PTA a powerful voice for all children; a relevant resource for families and communities; and a strong advocate for the well-being and education of every child.

Puesta del Sol Elementary PTA accomplishes this mission in part by speaking on behalf of our children, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children; and by encouraging parent, teacher, student and community involvement and civic participation.

Our advocacy is knowledge-based and membership driven, and is guided by WSPTA resolutions, long-term legislative principles and short-term platform as well as National PTA positions, National PTA resolutions and PTA's short-term national public policy agenda.

As a 501(c)3, Puesta del Sol Elementary PTA & Washington State PTA do not endorse individuals or political parties. But by exercising our right to vote, members are able to give children a voice. It is critical that PTA members learn about the candidates for public office and their positions on issues that are important to children.
